Instructors always asks, "What is Mass Communications?" Like they don't already know the answer. They have their degrees already, duh. One thing that I have realized is their not asking to get the same repetitive answer from students. But, to examine if students are digesting what and how Mass Media defines them. Of course according to Dynamics of Mass Communication, MC is "the process by which a complex organization, with the aid of one or more machines, produces and transmits public messages that are directed at large, heterogeneous, and scattered audiences." THAT'S BOOK DEFINITIONS. The actuality of mass communication is not only machines producing messages but the individuals operating those machines. That is the true media. the individuals who's mechanical transmitted messages emphasizes on race, gender, class, stereotypes, and et cetera, et cetera. This brand name labeling an over-a-century cover up for, what some call mass communication, distributing false accusations, and, or opinions about a particular subject "people" to a large quantity of fantasy land residents that is in a unison agreement.
Instead, instructors make us realize that mass communication for black students is more than looking in the back of the book for a meaning. We are the "meaning". We are the public message (discrimination, racism, sports, stereotype examples, what ever or which ever you choose) that is processed by a complex organizations (the people with the money and the power). And, who watches us? LARGE HETEROGENOUS AUDIENCES. For lack of a better term, different races who failed to study or even acknowledge our culture, religion, values, or norms. Even written, scholars claim that "The Negro is only an American and nothing else. He has no values and culture to guard and protect."(Nathan Glazer, Beyond the Melting Pot, p. 51)
Yet, they continue to make money for WHO?
Peers, if mass media is the channels (the controllers) and the institutions (complex organization) of mass communications. Than, the real definition of mass communication, is one or more machines helping the media produce graven images for our race and others.

information amounts other thing through the world. Mass com cam be use
for business as well as entertainment. There can be a negative and
bias effects from mass com. So we as mass com majors have a obligation
to full understand all concepts of mass communions. With new technical
and invasive studies the world is at our finger tips. Through of field
of studies we are able to put or thoughts and ideas in the laps of
people ever where. Aww yea we received a group assignment we have to
knock out. I laos bleieve that this is more then the back of the book.
